Education fair (Jan 2009 ) - part 2

A simple introduction of ENGINEERING

-Engineering is the application of mathematics and science to create something of value from our natural resources.

-The root word of engineering is the Latin ingenium, which means skill, ability or inborn talent. The english word 'ingenuity' also comes from the same root word, and it means having the skill to invent things and to think of new ideas and ways to do things.

So, did every1 went to this Jan 09 edufair in KLCC? I think if you miss it, then too bad. The fair is nice. There's lots of colleges, unis, and also some education guide institutions. I went this edu fair wif li yen and kah lee. After meeting them and had our lunch, we haed to the KL convention centre where the EDU fair is. So, why do we want to have a look in this edu fair? well, im searching for all kinds of engineering info. Example, civil engineering, telecommunications engineering, chemical engineering and etc.. While Li yen trying to get more info about actuarial science and which Uni offer better course of actuarial science after finishing her A lvl. Then come to kah lee, she wants to get reference on which college provide better mass comm course and cheaper fees.

All the colleges are doing the same thing everywhere-- doing survey and giving out brouchers. So, we collected many fliers and brouchers and enjoy ourself by hunting plastic bags and pens from various institutions. =) we also enjoy eating cookies, cakes made by some hospitality students from different college. so delicious leh ! =p

mm, the most interesting part of the day is meeting 1 guy, from the studylink instituion. His name is Tony. He is a smart, experienced and awesome counsellor. Full of knowledge and wisdom. He talks much about telecommunication engineering, actuarial science, mass comm, path way of further studies, such as to NTU, NUS in singapore, but singapore is so competitive! tat's wat he say. He also suggested some nice double degree courses, some good Uni for engineering and actuarial science in Australia and also UK. Tony also talked about fund investment and introduce finance to us. Besides tat, he also talks about economy crisis, future economy development, and also his experience working in Ericsson. He also told us how big companies make profit by buying low cost material, manufacturing them and sell them at another higher price! such as ikea, nike, and sony ericsson. So, i think tats wat the best part of the day, informative and useful. Well, he also suggested us to watch more astro USEFUL channel such as 511-518,i think. cuz i not quite remember the channels.

Around 6pm, we went to secret recipe yamcha. I had a espresso machiota. ~.~ not so tasty. anyway, after a tiring half day of edu fair, its time to go home. Its a nice experience listen to Tony and getting to edu fair. So, to all studying engineering course friends, think wisely and work hard! especially maths and chem. Hope every1 can achieve their dream career and success in life! =)
